New York City Council LGBTQIA+ Caucus Chairs Tiffany Cabán and Erik Bottcher Respond to Donald Trump’s Heinous Executive Orders

This week, President Donald Trump signed multiple executive orders which target the LGBTQIA+ community. 
In response, Council Member Tiffany Cabán and Council Member Erik Bottcher, Co-Chairs of the New York City Council LGBTQIA+ Caucus, released the following statement:  

“We will always support the transgender community. We will not back down because the Trump administration wants to set them up as scapegoats. We will not roll over as members of our community are villainized and demonized for who they are. We will defend our transgender and gender non conforming neighbors at all costs. 

To anyone who is considering throwing our LGBTQIA+ community under the bus: grow a spine. To anyone who wants to ruin the lives of our transgender siblings, take away their access to healthcare, blame them for society’s ills, and take away their rights: grow a heart.”
